Mrs. Ginny Potter bursts in on her husband as he works in his study and kisses him soundly, for a full minute. “What was that for?” he asks when she pulls back.
“I just want you to know I don’t regret a thing,” she tells him, and neither questions the sense of the statement.
yo i was gonna make a post that was like, “omg how much fun would it be to work in the animagus registry office in the ministry of magic like omfg they would think it was super awesome but totally impractical when someone became something like a white tiger and they would think ‘ah what a cliche’ when someone became a black cat or something”
but then i looked on the harry potter wiki and it said there were only 7 registered animagi in the 20th century (obviously not including the marauders) and now i’m all angry like NO FUCK THAT i think what i really want is a magic college where kids can go to learn the really complicated shit like patronus charms and animagus-ing because goddamn i love animal magic and i get all surly thinking about the fact that only a select few people can do it like no fuck you i want my magical animal revolution
i get really emotional about neville longbottom, especially when people mention the fact that he easily could have been in harry’s place as far as voldemort was concerned (also i couldn’t decide which version i liked more, so here, have both)
ron weasly fucking hates the spider scenes in the hobbit and lotr, but he can sympathize with the author’s blatant arachnophobia
i’m pretty sure this has been completely jossed by whatever jkr has said about them in interviews, but i don’t really care. i’m just. really attached to the headcanon that at least one of dudley’s kids would be magic.
WOULD HERMIONE TAKE RON’S LAST NAME OR WOULD SHE KEEP HER MAIDEN NAME RED ALERT THIS IS REALLY DISTRACTING
Tbqh I could happily read an entire book that was filled with nothing but the bios (e.g. family makeup, blood status, upbringing, House, boggart, patronus, etc.) and life stories of fanmade Hogwarts students, especially if most of those students didn’t completely fit into Harry Potter’s formula of male+white+straight+cis+able-bodied+Christian. Like, I’m seriously just fascinated with how kids of different backgrounds would work to make Hogwarts a home for themselves when in all truth the school wasn’t really designed with people like them in mind. It’s my favorite HP thing to find on Tumblr.
(This is apropos of nothing, but I just realized that Harry Potter had had Hedwig for the same amount of time and during the same period of life that I had had my cat Edgar—we both found our pets around the beginning of the school year after our eleventh birthdays, and we both lost them around the beginning of the school year after our seventeenth birthdays.)
